My Pedalboard

This page is about my pedalboard. I'll take you through the inception to what you see today on stage. The idea behind this board is simple, take my bass and turn it into a guitar. So that while on stage I can cover a huge range of octaves.

So here we see the start of my pedalboard. Above you see a very bare Pedaltrain Mini. The only thing on is sticky velocro. Also I make some modifications to the board. I add on rubber feet to give the board an incline rather than parallel with the ground.

Next we see my first set of pedals. The main objective of this pedalboard is to take my bass and switch between 2 amps. One bass amp and one guitar amp. As seen above, we see my Loop station with corresponding footswitch, an octave pedal, and metal distortion pedal. Also we see a strange "ugly monkey". A little toy I bought from my friend. She was raising funds for her work term to Indonesia.
At this point I had two amps, my Ampeg and a Marshall Micro-Stack. The Marshall Micro-Stack was sick but at the end of the day it wasn't pumping out enough power for me. Also the sound just wasn't right. So instead of the Marshall I went with the Spider IV 120 from Line 6. The digital amp allows me to mold and shape virtually any sound I want. The problem with EHX's Pog is that it is really a polyphonic pedal rather than an octave pedal. So by using Line 6's digital database I can negate the organ sound and get a raw crisp sounding guitar. However, in doing this it also made my ML-2 completely useless. Good bye distortion pedal :(

So now, I went and got my line switcher, the BOSS LS-2. This is the device that allows me to switch my bass from amp to amp. I put a clock on my board and a battery checker. I also got lights from IKEA. These lights change to 7 different colours. However ultimately I ripped them out because they were too heavy, too many wires, and from the crowd no one really sees them.

You'll see the reintroduction of my loop station and footswitch here. Also if you notice at the top of my board right in the middle, you'll see 4 USB slots, that is where I put overhead lights, so I can light up my board on stage.

For my birthday I bought myself the Line 6 G30 wireless system seen on the right of my pedalboard. Also my girlfriend bought me the BOSS TU-12EX tuner :D. Decided to go with the 12EX instead of the stompbox because of spacing issue. Adding another stompbox would have costed me more valuable space on my board. Replaced the old clock, the damn thing wouldn't keep time. Also added a little trinket box where I keep spare parts, metal pics, and spare lights.

And this is what it looks all lit up and shiny :D :D :D

So next, I found that one octave was too limiting. So I decided to upgrade my Micro-POG to a POG2. Since the POG2 is larger than the Micro, I had to do a little rearranging.

Then I add on my BOSS ML-2.
and we're almost done

Input
      -->  G30
               --> LS-2
                           --> POG2 --> ML-2 --> Amp
                           --> Amp
                           --> TU-12EX

And that's my main work horse.

Ok, so now that my board is done, the only logical conclusion is to take it apart and redo it. I've decided carrying around 2 amps is a pain and that I rather use just one. So in doing that, my board has to be restructured.
